Who Should Attend

Business executives who have the overall strategic responsibility of Information technology. The objective is to share experience at the information technology management level. Attendance is by invitation only. The number of participants is strictly limited

Objectives

Following recommendations received from our own customers, HBC will be launching the 1st business enabling Tools Exchange Forum which is focused only on challenges faced by business professionals. The key focus of this first exchange forum will be on practical management tools that are managing project portfolio using project management office (PMO), launch new products using the Time to Market (TTM) model or simply engage the supply chain. This exclusive exchange forum will be the place where you can exchange best practices, benchmarked, create a network. Presentations from participating companies and we will address six management tools that are currently being used by executive teams to help them achieve their operational objectives. Following the presentation there will be opportunities for brainstorming and workout sessions with the various sessions to exchange views and benchmark with leading global companies.

The SIX management tools that we will review during these two days are:

1) IT Market Analysis
2) Feasibility Study
3) TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) / Business Case Development
4) PMO (Project Management Office)
5) TTM Model (Time to Market) for new product development
6) Procurement Process (Incl. RFI, RFQ, RFP, IFB)

 

The process that we will follow to review each tool will be:

a) Presentation of the tool methodology as per industry
b) Presentation of their own experience with this management tool by one company participating at the forum
c) Round table discussions by participants on benefits, requirements, issues and challenges

 

Each company represent at the forum will have to pick one of the 6 tools and prepare a short presentation (30 mins max.) on how they are applying it to achieve results.

What tool do you use to keep yourself up to date with the latest market trends, the market power shift, the threat or opportunities, the technology disruption, future demands evaluation to technology evolution assessment?

 

Feasibility Study

What tool do you use to identify the best solutions to solve problem or to fulfill the needs created from an opportunity? How do you ensure it is a viable or feasible IT solution that will deliver value to stakeholders? How do you capture requirements?

 

TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) / Business Case

How do you calculate your cost of ownership? How do you make a decision on TCO versus just using the price of acquisition? What tool do you use to develop business cases? How do you find the cost to use in your business case?

 

PMO (Project Management Office)

Did you set up a PMO? How did you do it? What is or was the main challenges? How did you position it in your company? What is the mandate? What are the roles and responsibilities? What methodology do you use? How do you deploy?

 

TTM Model (Time to Market)

Do you have to develop new product or launch new services? Do you have to deliver solutions to the market? What process or methodology are you using? What decision making process with executives support the project? What are the challenges? What are the phases of the project life cycle and the key deliverables for each phase?

 

Procurement Process

What tool do you use to document your requirements? How do you find prospect vendors? Do you use E-procurement tools? Do you produce RFQ, RFP, IFB, if yes, what are the key sections? How do you deal with consultants & contractors?

 

NOTE: We are leaving to the participants to decide what information they can provide and what is proprietary data or intellectual property. The intent is not to provide information’s on product or services but on the management tool that you are using to accomplish a specific goal.
